kHz, 5970. Which closed on 31 May 2020. Alemanha: R. Mi Amigo
Internacional; Europa 24 at 0733 on 6150 via Datteln. 2309 credit
Arnaldo Slaen. Despite the show name, it appears trying to be
historical rather than current DX tips, mentioned several other years
in the past. Multi-lingual ID reel and 2310 into next topic:
anniversary of the March 17, 1992 bombing of the Israeli embassy in
Buenos Aires; In 2017 this date was established as an annual memorial.
Hezbollah was blamed, but still not certain who did it. 2313 switches
to Spanish about this and no translation by the time I tune out. Since
this is March 17, gives the impression this broadcast was axually

instead of Portuguese relay; no RHC frequencies found either but on

back on air: ``The truth is the number of us that can work on these
transmitters shrinks everyday. It is beyond critical. Last week I
needed to call Continental Electronics for a part for WRMI.
Continental is the last remaining US Shortwave transmitter
manufacturer. Nobody would answer the phone. I tried for several days.
I hear they may be exiting the SW sector. That means no more custom
parts. That will leave only China, India, and a very expensive

** U S A. 5085, WTWW update early UT March 17 from George McClintock:
still can`t get it to work, after installing a new tube. Will keep
messing with it, awaiting consultant, who is ex-Continental and made
the transmitter, to return from Vietnam. There was a burned-up shroud
around the tubes, blackening. Checked the tube sockets and they seem
to match. Another $ 1200 tube did not work and surprisingly the seller
refunded his money. Got two plungers costing $ 6000 each (Glenn Hauser,

ToH leadup as if just signing on. Same mixup we`ve been getting on
Sundays, instead of previously scheduled WOR at 2330 (Glenn Hauser,

** U S A. 5890, UT Tue March 17 at 0202, surprised to hear WWCR-4 on
the air now; maybe it`s been back for a while, but only scheduled UT
Tue-Sat at 02-04 when I haven`t been checking much. It`s Truth House
this hour and guess what, the convicted and deceased Tony Alámo at
03-04! per sked. 4840 & 5935 are also on air, so WWCR is back to full
75% with #1 unit still closed down voluntarily. This also possiblizes
the leapfrog mixing product on 5980 if not in reverse on 5845 (Glenn

UNIDENTIFIED. 760, March 17 at 0211 UT, something in Spanish almost
as strong as WJR, but no time to follow it. Rather than Cuba, most
likely XEABC near Mexico City among the six XEs, if not 10 kW daytimer
KMTL Arkansas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9490, March 17 at 0206, huge S9+40 open carrier direct,
surely too strong for ISS in case on by mistake with no R. República
feed? It`s the SSOB exceeding 9395, 9690, 9700, 9955! Still at 0245
S9+50 into Georgia SDR, but seems to go off about 0258 -- no, a weaker
deadair is still there, only S7/9+15 past 0313 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
